seasons

It's summertime and we'd never met face to face before You pick me up at 2 am Your voice is deep and wonderful I'm surprised about how it's not weird at all Your house is big and your friend is passed out on the couch I had math with him The tv in your room is huge and you let me pick the movie It gets chilly but we heat up under the blanket Then you're kissing me For an hour it seems We laugh and you touch my side and I show you things you've never done before You take me home and it's 7 am and I can't get you out of my head It's fall and you just lost your last football game and you're avoiding your friends You ask me if you can pick me so I hurry out of the shower It's so good to see you again We go to a spot you know and talk about the summer and catch up This is the first we've talked in months You ask permission to kiss me I show you things you haven't done before Your friends keep calling so you finally answer and tell them you're with me They find us and follow us back to my house It's 5 am and you text me afterwards until we fall asleep It's winter and I have the flu You're with the only friend we have in common You text me on several days which is something you haven't done before You want to make my winter break better because I'm down and sick Our plans fall to shit but at 1pm on New Year's Eve I drive to you My heart races as I kiss you again I show you things you've never done before We laugh off the troubles and talk about relationships and death I have to go to work All night I can't stop thinking about how you smell My best friend and I talk about it for hours I don't hear from you It's springtime and you tell me your feelings About life and love and your parents And then also about me And how you want an 'us' My heart stops and you're all I can think about Life gets in the way and the talking gets sparse I wait for you every day I pray you're ok but what more can I do The seasons have changed us Yet I still want you
