It's dark here
In the places the sun don't shine
Like the scary thoughts
In the back of my mind
Like my old tattoo
My mom doesn't know of
Or the cuts you can't see
Unless my sleeves are rolled up
It's cold here
In the places the warmth is gone
Like sleeping alone
When I'm used to your arms
Like walking outside
Without your sweatshirt on me
Or getting lost in the road
And ending up on your street
It's cloudy here
In the places that aren't clear
Like when you say you love me
But get distant when we're not near
Like when it's late on a Friday
And you say that you miss me
Or you come to apologize
Then give up so easily
It's bright here
In the places full of light
Like going downtown
On a Friday night
Like laughing with your best friend
About life and such
Or going out to dinner
That costs way too much
It's scary here
In the places without strength
Like wanting somebody
For a great time length
Like being left alone
All night with your thoughts
Or sneaking in late
Praying you don't get caught
Yes, It's dark
And it's cold
And it's cloudy
And it's bright
And sometimes it's scary
But that's just life
