open letter to all

I think sometimes people are too focused on the past Which is wrong because the present is now and the future is still coming And we must not dwell on those things we've experienced in the past Like the mean words people have said to us or the nice ones that we don't hear anymore because the past is gone now And maybe some people have it worse off than others but complaining and comparing won't make you any better of a person So I think sometimes it's ok for us to just shut our mouths and open our ears for once Because everybody is hurting and it's not just you and maybe sometimes people don't want to hear it because they have enough going on So maybe let those people be alone and try to understand your feelings too And maybe use your words to paint a picture instead of tearing down someone else's work of art And if the picture you've made isn't so pretty and kind maybe hide that one away in the back of your mind instead of showing it to someone who might just not like it so much Because if you do you might hurt their heart and I think everyone's heart holds enough hurt already So maybe if you realized how many see you as a beautiful sunset you'd stop chasing after people to tell you they do And you could just know it for yourself and hold it as your own truth And then you could probably see other people as sunsets too and not just skies that you are tempted to paint grey since they appear brighter than yours But appearance isn't everything and what you see may not always be real so take that into perspective when you think of how people feel And maybe if we all sat down we wouldn't seem so unusual and different to each other So we could have a chance to get to know what makes people's clocks tick and understand that our clock is not the only one in the world And we could appreciate the times when we're out of the darkness and in the light for a change Maybe just look outwards from time to time and not just inwards all day
