Mother Earth

The morning sun rises in the East Bringing life to another day. The bird songs sound so cheerfully As the clouds slowly fly away. Gods miracles surround us But no one seems to see. The grass that grows in meadows Or a forest full of trees. We take our world for granted. As we destroy our Lakes and Streams. So much harm we’ve done to Mother Earth And it’s getting worse it seems. Man walks blind to what he’s done He doesn’t give a d*mn. And I pray that we can save what’s here What’s left of our precious land. The Evening sun sets in the west, Bringing an end to another day. Tree frogs harmonize with crickets As the day light fades away. WE thank God as we pray each night, That tomorrow will be better than before As we lay down in our beds and dream Of the world in which we long for Ricky Sholar 9/22/1
