Cops and Robbers

I remember when I was very young All the fun we had as kids Horse back riding and playing in the fields All the crazy things we did Well a buddy of ours from down the road Bought a car for on the farm He picked us up to go for rides Hell we didn't see no harm Well we decided to play cops and robbers With this little four wheeled job With this car we chased my brother As he ran and weaved and bobbed My other brother was in the back Shooting at him with a toy gun We really didn't see no harm We were kids and this was fun I was hollering out the window Just barely hanging on When all of a sudden from the corner of my eye On the hill I saw my mom She was waving her arms and shaking her fist And pointing us towards home Our buddy drove us to the House And left us standing all alone Our mother told our father About our dangerous game And though he had to punish us He still laughed just the same By Ricky Sholar 1/3/2017
