Remember those nights when kids of
bygone times,
went from house to house shouting
made up rhymes?
Things like "tricks or treats, money or eats",
"We're on your porch, tromping for treats",
or "ring your bell, we'll run like hell"
Pranks of soaping windows
on cars,
Toilet paper rolls in trees.
Pepper spray to make one sneeze.
Little ones begging in costume,
Older ones getting way too much
to consume.
Looking for porch lights left on,
Staying away from dark houses,
no one there, they must be gone.
Staying out late, 'til about nine,
after that was crossing the line.
Taking home enough goodies to last
to Easter,
You had to share, or get smacked
on the kiester!
