Why do verbal disputes
Have to be settled with a gun?
Once the trigger's pulled
It's over and forever done.
Words can be hurtful,
Better they're left unsaid.
Once they are uttered,
The hurt begins to spread.
Enter the use of a firearm,
Lapse of a cooler head,
Means someone got
physically hurt,
Possibly even dead.
When hurtful words are heard,
From one person's mouth,
To another's ears and head,
Stopping is easy, by saying
"Sorry" instead.
But when the gun is fired,
The round can't be recalled.
And when the bullet is mired,
Inside a body when it's fired,
The end result might be
More than was desired.
Then in the final analysis,
How can this issue be addressed?
It's up to each individual to
Become reconciled,
No need to feel oppressed,
In home training of every child,
The best way it should be addressed.
