Fought for our freedom from England,
During the Revolutionary drill,
It was a bloody confrontation,
Fought for near Boston,
Out on a place called Bunker Hill.
Then there was the skirmish in Cuba,
During the Spanish-American war,
Led by Teddy Roosevelt,
It wasn't an easy chore.
But it certainly not was a necessary drill,
Called the charge up old San Juan Hill.
Fast forward mid 20th century
Surging up Iwo Jima hill,
Planting old faithful, what a thrill.
Never to forget North Korea,
Trying to not become a place
for a kill,
Charging up on Pork Hill.
Lest we forget what our military's
Have all gone through,
Over the decades, the fighting,
Doing what they had to do,
No more dying, or blood to spill,
No more charging up another hill.
