My embers of my past/fire, seems to still burn at the touch and sight stings; the embers turn to ash

The sound of my heart racing, is keeping me up, I reach for the fire and it turns to smoke; I was camping for so long that I forgot about how to put out the fire....it burns, I feel it tapping my nerves.
