The hammer goes tick-tick-tick!
On the nail he longs to go
He keeps on going until his owner wants to
The long, big- headed hammer, we think,
But the nail thinks, the hammer is his foe
The hammer goes tick-tick-tick!
And he never tends to break a thing!
Oh you mallet! You have so much work to do,
In the hands f the blacksmiths!
The hammer goes tick-tick-tick!
Oh you have moulded a million things
And where haven’t you worked?
In the blacksmith’s shop or as a gavel in the hands of a judge!
The hammer goes tick-tick-tick!
