Dark were the clouds
That covered the sky
The ground began to shake
It groaned and it cried
What once was dead
Were walking in the streets
The graves were vacant
It's prisoners were free
In the sanctuary
The veil once stood tall
It was torn in two
No longer a wall
Then on the hilltop
I saw three men condemned
Two hung in their shame
The Other carried every burden
He hung on the cross
And wore a crown of thorns
His Spirit departed
His agony was beyond words
Then a guard pierced His side
Then blood and water flowed incessantly
Then I heard a Roman cry,
"Surly, this Man was innocent!"
Then they took His broken body
And wrapped it in linen
They buried it in a stone
Concealed and well hidden
Two days went by
All my joy was diminished
Then the dark tomb was empty
And the body had vanished
Then joy overwhelmed me
When I looked upon His face
Alive and well
Forever He will reign
