I used to have a heart of glass
It broke so many times that I scarred up my hands
I used to spend so long picking up the pieces but now I can’t
Finally I got tired of hurting so bad
So I smashed my heart of glass
I traded that for a heart of stone
A heart that’s dark and hard and cold
A heart that you will never hold
And this one won’t break even if it’s thrown
No pieces can be missing from a heart of stone
There’s consequences to this, though
I’m not the girl I used to know
