The neon flickered and buzzed
As the smell of stale cigarettes and spilled beer hung heavy
The juke played a barrage of country music
And the boys at the pool table
Eyed up who they thought they’d take home
I pulled up a stool next to a worn out soul
Who paid more attention to his beer and whiskey
“Tennessee Whiskey” poured out of the speakers and into my glass
