out my window, white and light gray cloud cover
Underneath, small and dark gray tufts of low-lying clouds
Moving quickly North to South
to my astonishment, I see a huge and dark gray
Alligator where those low-lying clouds once where!
Opened mouth, preparing to take a bite of the tree top!
As suddenly, chasing the alligator came a dark-Gray cat!
A domestic cat: fangs bared, back arched and hair bristled,
Quick and fearless!
On land Alligators are terrified of cats!
And then, just as suddenly, POOF!, the alligator and the
cat where gone!
The clouds parted allowing the Sun and blue skies
Back to their posts
The next day driving past that tree that the alligator was
Going to take a bite of…
Has that tree always looked like that?!
