Gazing out my window
She came to me in a daydream
A vision of many beautiful colors
Fluttering in the wind, her hair,
every shade of red
The bodice of her dress was green
flowing down into oranges, yellows,
then browns as it pooled on the ground
She then spoke to me in a dry and
rustling voice, “Don’t be sad that I
am here for my services are vital”
and, “ I bring time for preparation
and transition”
“when you sit on your favorite bench,
does your face tilt upward towards
the sun, as it envelopes you in it’s
warmth?”
She continued, “ Don’t be sad that
There is less daylight than before,
because it gives you more time for
reflection and contemplation “
“ The air is cooler now, you may
have a more comfortable and restorative
sleep”
“enjoy the crisp,cool air and
beautiful colors on the trees as you go
out and about “
“And most of all” she said, “Relish in
The opportunity to watch children
laughing and playing in a big pile of
leaves that is me
