The gold box was made of a special wood
It was somewhat ornate with intricate carvings all around
It had been handmade
The gold color was not too bright
though it was a rich color that bounced off the light
It almost had a burnished look
The lid had a brilliant red ruby set on the top with clear crystals around it in a simple design
A few emeralds and sapphires were also scattered about
Inside the box was a deep red velvet lining
Very soft to the touch
On the inside of the lid was a beautiful small mirror framed in gold
Filled in the box were beautiful gems
Emeralds, rubies, diamonds and sapphires
Interwoven with the gems were gold threads
Each gem was perfect in every way
No flaws existed
If light or the sun hit the inside of the box just right the gems would glisten and shine
The box was a gift and treasure
It was given to one special girl as a token of esteem and love
It was given to her a long time ago by a prince from a far away land
