Respite

As the gentle breezes blow across my face, and the sun starts to set it’s a brief moment of paradise As the air cools down for the night people start to relax and let go a bit from the day It’s been a harsh day with all the heat for all concerned Plants are thirsty for their daily drink, which they need to survive By nighttime they are parched People dress for the heat in light colored clothing and sandals Seeking some respite where they can hide from the searing heat As I sit on the terrace, I relish the soft breezes blowing across my face I am grateful for the moment of grace and peace
