You pinched me,
To see if I was real.
I kissed your forehead,
So again you could feel.
You opened your eyes,
And saw my face.
A smile grew,
From my mind not erased.
Your bedside I stood,
Stroking your hair.
You gripped my hand tight,
Pull away I wouldn’t dare.
When it was time for me to go,
I had no clue.
That this would be the last time,
And you wouldn’t make it through.
As I left I cried,
But my faith grew stronger.
Rest and be at peace,
You are suffering no longer.
