I asked the little soldier girl, who are u to fight?
She gave a cold hard stare and said "I will fight the dark night".
I looked at her hair dusty, and riddled with dirt,
her clothes were worn and tattered
her bare feet covered with earth.
The courage was for me to
look into her eyes,
frightened by my guilt,
and all my country's lies.
She wanted no sympathy empathy or pay;
She could take care of self surviving day after day.
All the rebel boys would taunt
safely staying at bay,
because this soldier girl was packing and had no time for idle play.
Her slender hands clutched her weapon with all the fierce strength & might,
she would be ready to fight her enemy the relentless dark night.
